Edinburgh’s recently been blessed with a handful of new pizza places that have been popping up left, right and centre. In fact, it seems that in the past few years the city’s pizza scene has gone from zero to hero. Pizza fans, that’s got to be a good thing – doughn’t you agree? Ok, no more pizza puns, we promise.

Here’s a roundup of the best pizzas you’ll find in Edinburgh, without further ado:

Razzo

A newbie to the Edinburgh pizza scene, you'll find Razzo on Great Junction Street down in Leith. The guys at Razzo serve up top quality Neapolitan pizzas topped with fresh san Marzano tomatoes and a delicious array of fresh toppings. They also serve up a mean pasta if that's more your thing! Do bear in mind that the premises itself chic yet small, so prepare for a wait over busy periods.

Pizzas start from just £6.50 and a bring your own booze policy makes Razzo a reasonable night out.

Pizza Posto

The self-proclaimed best pizza in Edinburgh, Pizza Posto whip up authentic Neapolitan style pizzas form their slow rising multi-cereal dough. Again, Pizza Posto use delicious san Marzano tomatoes and an array of fresh ingredients to top it off. With prices starting from £6.50 and pints from £4 this is another reasonable pizza shop perfect for any occasion. And, the premises are huge, so there should be no worrying about queuing out in the cold!

Wanderer's Kneaded

As the name suggests you'll find Wanderer's Kneaded in different spots around the city. Serving up the goods from their old-school food truck their more permanent parking spot is in the Meadows, however you will catch them popping up at the likes of Campervan Brewery, The Pitt Market and other venues. Track them down and it will definitely be worth it, after all they were the Scottish Street Food Awards Champion 2019. Yep, their wood fired, sourdough pizza is something to shout about!

Franco Manca

You might have heard of Franco Manca before. The national chain have recently opened up shop in Edinburgh's St Andrew's Square, finally bringing decent pizza to the city centre. Super handy for popping in if you're in town or are about to catch the train, being just 5 minutes from Waverley Train Station. What's more, they're surprisingly cheap for a chain, with pizzas from just £6.75 and a decent selection of drinks!

Pizzaria 1926

Pizzeria 1926 is the sister restaurant of Locanda de Gusti, owned and run by chef Rosario Satore. Rosario grew up in Naples and has brought his magical Neapolitan pizza to Dalry, Edinburgh! The ingredients used at Pizzeria 1926 are fresh and locally sourced where possible. Flavourful san Marzano tomatoes, thick chewy dough and delicious toppings make for happy tummies! Pizzeria 1926 is slightly more expensive, with pizzas from £9.95.

Pizza Geeks

Whilst you're in Dalry make sure to check out Pizza Geeks, another top notch contender in the title for Edinburgh's best pizza. The guys at Pizza Geeks started out as a regular in Edinburgh's street food markets before opening their very own restaurant in 2018. And boy we're glad they did! Another cracking Neapolitan pizza and with a lunch menu for just £5 definitely worth a visit.

Froth and Flame

The latest newbie to the pizza scene, you'll find Froth & Flame on Morison Street. Their ethos is simple. Wood-fired pizza paired with craft beer - sounds like a winning combo to us! It's no surprise they've recently been highly recommended by the Scottish and Northern Irish National Pizza Championships. Perfect for popping in on a Friday to indulge in great food and great drink!
